For the past few months, ‘Star Trek’ star, Chris Pine has been rumored to be up for the role of Hal Jordan or Steve Trevor, but now it seems a deal has been made. According to The Wrap, Pine has closed a multi-picture deal to play Steve Trevor, the love interest to the Amazonian princess, Wonder Woman. With the multi-picture deal, Pine could appear in other films besides the ‘Wonder Woman’ movie, such as ‘Suicide Squad’ or ‘Justice League.’ Chris Pine would play opposite Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, who will make her first appearance in next years ‘Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.’
Steve Trevor made his first appearance in ‘All Star Comics’ #8 along with Wonder Woman. The characters were both created by William Moulton Marston and H.H. Peter back 1941, and went on to be very important characters in the DC universe.
This will be Chris Pine’s second major franchise to go along with his ‘Star Trek’s’ Captain James T. Kirk. The production for the third installment of the ‘Star Trek’ franchise ‘Star Trek: Beyond.’
Wonder Woman will get her first solo movie on June 23rd, 2017. We still don’t know if the ‘Wonder Woman’ standalone movie will be our first introduction to Steve Trevor, I personally think we will see him in next years ‘Suicide Squad.’
